There are many ways to make chili, but when you want that slow cooked flavor in an instant there’s no better recipe than this simple Pressure Cooker {Instant Pot} Chili!
I have to imagine if you follow my blog, or especially if you follow my Instagram, you know I pretty much have an obsession with all things chili. I can’t really think of a week that’s gone by lately that I haven’t made chili for lunch or dinner at some point! Of course, I make it in the slow cooker all the time, because, I mean, chili and slow cooker go hand-in-hand. And when in a time crunch, I make it in my dutch oven. But now the Instant Pot is all the rage. Can you make delicious chili in a pressure cooker, does the recipe need to be adjusted, and is it really all that? You know I’m not going to leave you guys wondering, today’s post is all about Pressure Cooker {Instant Pot} Chili!
I took my favorite chili recipe and put it to the test by making it in the Instant Pot instead. Long story short, it comes out tasting the same and takes about 45 -60 minutes total time.
The benefit to making in the Instant Pot:
- slow cooked flavor in about an hour
- no babysitting the stove
- all in one pot
Downsides:
So, my preference again would be that I’m totally organized and on top of things and get the chili started in the slow cooker in the morning and we wouldn’t have to wait for dinner. The reality is that life happens, things get busy and using the Instant Pot is a great way to get dinner going and be able to let it cook without having to stay with the stove while it finishes simmering. So, it’s certainly a great option for those busy days.
