It’s no secret that my favorite thing to bake in the whole wide world is birthday cake. I get hyper-focused on flavors and aesthetics so I can deliver something the recipient will truly love. So, needless to say, I was SUPER excited to be asked to create a cake in honor of Reese Witherspoon’s birthday!
If you don’t already know, her clothing brand is called Draper James. (I’ve been a fan from the get-go and ordered the “Hello, Sugar!” tote as soon as I laid eyes on it!) It’s clear from looking at her collection that she loves the color blue and navy stripe is a hallmark of her style. Her new southern magnolia print is on all kinds of breezy dresses, and pretty much sealed the deal for a giant sugar Magnolia as the cake’s grand flourish!
This cake was a dream to make and filled with lots of love, birthday wishes, and bourbon-chocolate ganache! Happy Birthday, Reese!
